This gathering on December 21st will feature a film screening of Is the Crown at War with Us? by Alanis Obomsawin.
Followed by a Teach-in facilitated by Patti Doyle-Bedwell (J.D, LLM), Associate Professor at Dalhousie University.
Is the Crown at War with us? by Alanis Obomsawin captures the conflict that arises when Mi’kmaw fishers exercise their right to pursue a moderate livelihood through fishing, as upheld by the 1999 Marshall Decision.
