
Indigenizing Healing: Workshop by Elder Josh

Join us on Feb 20 and 27 for a two-part series hosted by one of our National Youth Reconciliation Initiative teams! These workshops focus on mental health to explore the meaning of healing through traditional Indigenous teachings and therapeutic practices.
February 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m: Workshop by Elder Josh:
Eshkawkogan Anishinaabe Elder Josh Eshkawkogan from Wiikwemkoong will share his teachings and knowledge of what healing means. As a pipe carrier and active member of the United Chiefs and Council of Mnido Mnising Elders Council, he enjoys attending and helping with traditional ceremonies.
February 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Intergenerational trauma:
This workshop, led by Elaine Kocknosway, is an introduction to trauma and the role it has played in our lives. How does our trauma transgress into our present? We will examine the definition of intergenerational trauma and how it plays a role in the life experience of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
