National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
September 30, 2021
In June 2021, the federal government passed legislation to make September 30th the inaugaural, federal, statutory holiday for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
It’s a day to commemorate the history and ongoing trauma caused by Indian* Residential Schools. It’s also a time to pause and care for ourselves, our communities, honour the survivors and grieve those we’ve lost.
Our offices will be closed coast to coast.
*We purposefully use the term ‘Indian’ Residential Schools, as they were originally titled, to specifically acknowledge the anti-Indigenous and racist history of this institution.
