UNDRIP Action Plan – In-Person Forum
September 28, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm EDT
When it comes to creating an action plan to achieve the objectives of UNDRIP, it is crucial to create space for Indigenous youth to share their perspectives and priorities.
Over the next few months, CRE will be hosting five virtual sharing circles, an in-person forum in Iqaluit, Nunavut in partnership with Ivviulutit, and a virtual policy hackathon designed to ensure just that.
Eligibility:
- The only requirement is that folks identify as Indigenous (First Nation, Metis, and/or Inuit) and are between the ages of 18 and 29.
- Participants do not need to have a background or knowledge related to UNDRIP. However, to help you feel prepared for the engagements we have put together a growing resource list that you can find here.
In partnership with Ivviulutit, a local grassroots group for Inuit, and BIPOC 2SLGBTQQIA+ youth, we will be hosting an in-person forum.
Timeline
The In-Person forum will be taking place on September 28th, from 10:00 AM EST to 4:00 PM EST at the Aqsarniit Hotel & Conference Centre.
We will also be holding space for those taking part in the forum to gather on September 27th to get to know one another and share a meal. We look forward to meeting everyone!
Compensation
A $500.00 honorarium will be provided to each of the participants, and lunch will also be provided. Transportation to the hotel will be provided if needed.
Deadline to apply
September 7th, 2022
Please note that if the forum is full, you will be added to a waitlist and be contacted if a space becomes available.
