Amani Maatouk

Graphic designer and marketing coordinator - Toronto amani@canadianroots.ca

Hi there/Bonjour!

My name is Amani—often mistaken for Armani, Miami, Aminé—and I am Moroccan and Syrian. Born and raised in Tiotià:ke (Montréal), I moved to Dish with One Spoon Territory (Toronto) this year to pursue studies in Advertising at OCAD University. With an avid interest in design, cinema and fashion, I spend most of my time on the computer or in a movie theatre, although one of my favourite things to do is to travel and discover new places. Working as the Graphic Design and Marketing Coordinator, I have gotten the opportunity to see how profoundly and positively CRE has affected Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, inspiring me to constantly strive to represent this impact through informative and engaging graphics and content.

Thank you/Merci!
