Deseray Rich

CREation Advisory Circle Member

Deseray Rich (She/Her) is Inuk and Innu first nation from a remote town in Labrador, and now resides in Montreal, QC. She is a Mother of 2 children and a strong advocate for Indigenous rights- most often speaking at MMIW events, advocating for Indigenous families, and Indigenous youth in care.

Deseray has life experience as an Indigenous Millennial scoop survivor, living an unstable life in the system as a foster child, and other life experiences that unfortunately many other Indigenous girls and women are challenged with. She works as an advocate for Cree families in Quebec applying for Jordans Principle, completing and submitting applications.

You could find her mostly at home, being a loving mother cooking, baking, or being involved in the many family events and activities at Native Montreal and the Southern Quebec Inuit Association.
