Sarah Harney (She/Her/Hers) is a mixed Anishinaabekwe. Her family is from Nipissing First Nation on her father’s side and she is of Scottish and Irish descent on her mother’s side. She currently resides on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin territory in Ottawa, Ontario.
Sarah holds a Master’s in Communications and Social Justice from the University of Windsor and has over eight years of experience working in communications in various capacities. She has worked for National Indigenous Organizations, as a Strategist for a Communications Agency, and as a Communications Professor at Algonquin College. She is passionate about digital storytelling, community-building, advocacy, Knowledge Translation, and decolonizing communications practices.
In her spare time, you can find her camping, cooking, learning her language, spending time with her dog, and tending to her garden/plants.
