Policy Symposiums engage Indigenous youth in high school (grades 9-12) in 1 day events about policy. These symposiums are focused on delivering content that is both politically and culturally relevant to various Indigenous communities in Canada.
Symposiums are curated to ensure that participants are provided with a safe learning environment that is accessible to all learning backgrounds, and is composed of content that is distinctions-based and impactful. Through various evaluative and performance measurement strategies, the program ensures youth will have an opportunity to increase their understanding of the terms, concepts and philosophies of policy development, governance, advocacy, community engagement, and systems change.
